Bulgarian capital Sofia and district centers Pleven, Burgas, Plovdiv, Rousse and Varna are included in customer magazine fDi Magazine as the most promising investment destinations in Europe in 2016/2017 in terms of cost efficiency.
Burgas, Plovdiv, Ruse, Stara Zagora, Varna and Sofia also are included in the most promising areas for investment in the category of cost effectiveness.
The cities are classified into five groups - leading megacity with a population over 750 000 people and more than 2 million people in the wider zones, cities with population over 500 000 people and more than 1 million in a wide area around them, medium-sized cities with over 200 thousand inhabitants and over 750 000 people in the wider area around them, small towns with a population between 100 000 and 350 000 people and micro cities with population below 100 000 people.
Leading European regions are classified into three groups - the largest with a population of over 4 million people, including a population of 1.5-4 million people and little cities with a population below 1.5 million people.
Sofia ranks fourth among major European cities in the group of the best investment destinations in terms of cost efficiency.
Pleven, Burgas, Plovdiv, Rousse and Varna are ranked respectively on fifth , seventh , eighth , ninth and 10th place in the ranking of leading small cities for investment in Europe also indicator cost efficiency.
The group of medium-sized regions indicator cost effectiveness are classified Burgas - on the second place , Skopje is first. District Plovdiv is third, followed by Ruse and Stara Zagora. Varna and Sofia are respectively on 7th and 8th place.
